Fly Fishing the Sierra Nevada, Revised Edition, by Bill Sunderland
This 148-page book by fly-fishing author Bill Sunderland covers the
entire Sierra Nevada, from Lake Almanor in the north to the Kern River
drainage in the south, and details hundreds of rivers, streams and lakes
that offer good trout fishing throughout the region. It updates and
expands an earlier version of Fly Fishing the Sierra Nevada published in
1999. Among other things, this new edition adds a chapter on the lower
Owens River near Bishop and much greater detail on the Yuba River
between Grass Valley and Marysville, both of which have come on in
recent years as blue ribbon trout fisheries. It also features more than
100 spectacular color photographs by Rick E. Martin, and 15
topographical maps to help anglers get to their destination.
